The seller might not have any better idea what a good turbo is than the buyer does. It certainly seems that way to me. Check what that turbo NIB goes for. $75 for one that will run for a minute and then take an inexpensive rebuild to bring it up to par? Pffft.
The kid - and you - need to understand that what he thinks is a problem is fantasyland bullshit. Those are 15-25 year old turbos of unknown history, they are bottom of the barrel unless freshly remanufactured, and he isn't going to do any better if he got a refund and tried buying another. I think what needs to happen here is the kid needs to buy a bearing kit for the turbo in question, and the Bullydog asshats need to install it for him since they can't pay him enough to buy a turbo in decent condition aka new in the ----------ing box.

timmay is a legitimate guy. I can't believe you guys would rip on him like this. He is the only one being civil here.
He was boosting a D in a 4dr before people even knew about HMT. He swapped an H22 into an EG before anyone that I know of (5 or 6 years ago). He's built more turbo setups in Idaho than any other person I know. He knows what the hell he is doing.

Re: Refund or not?
i understand what your saying JD, and to an extent i agree with you, you cant expect much from a 75 turbo...but there is a difference between "almost no shaft play" and "its going to need rebuilt because the blades hit the housing" i guess timmay should have read into the price and assumed it was a fucked up turbo and the dude was bullshiting him. i know i would be pissed if i spent 75 bucks on Anything when the seller said it was in good shape, and when i recieved it, it was a $75 paper weight. real question is, would timmay have bought it if he knew it had to be rebuilt? probably not...but the seller had an opportunity to unload his busted junk, so he polished that turd and sold it off quick style.
i am more or less sticking up for timmay in the fact that he IS NOT a whiny little bitch like he is being played out to be. when it comes to selling ----, he is VERY upfront and honest...im sure it pisses him off when others are dishonest to him.....
