gas it the 808 state (hawaii) is 2.80reg 2.99mid prem3.10

i need to buy a moped

its funny though we are supposed to be dependent of "foriegn oil" hurricane hits the gulf and our gas prices go up sounds like a scam!!! i want to call that "price gouging" number i saw on fox news

why cant they deposit the oil at a different port other than mississippi?

hell even in hawaii we have an oil refinery!

china has nothing to do with it being as only a very small fraction of our oil comes from the same place as them. most of our oil comes from the caribbean and south america. we only get ~8% of our oil from the mid-east. even if oil conumption rises 15% and we have to soley rely on our reserves, we have enough oil for 35 years, that shows you oil quantity isnt the problem, turning crude into usable gasoline is where the bottle neck is. the major oil companies know that and they exploit it by not building more refineries and lowering the surplus of gasoline in this country. supply and demand is simple and oil refining companies have mastered it.

you basically said the same thing i was getting at :P

I'll rephrase my saying..china isn't the main reason but its one of the many new problems why its high.

And to tell you the truth i really dont see any reason why we need to drill our own oil. It will be a long as time till its available and it wont last us that long. We should really just reserve it for future war or other important matters.

americas reserves have about 700million barrels, which would not last the entire US for too long. Prices also come from the oil companies knowing that they can control the prices without much interference from the government (most politicians way is paid by oil <cough>bush<cough> (and i even voted for him...)). oil is also disappearing. at this point, it's getting more costly to find new places to drill, and it's coming to a point where it's not worth the cost to the oil companies. But china does have some to do with it too. if their industrial revolution stumbles or falls, we would definitely see a little bit of a relief in prices.

if we only have 700million in US reserves then oil would last us way less than you could possibly imagine.700million gallons can be produced in les than 2 weeks. we would be stupid to leave that little in our reserves. yearly WORLD consuption is 30 Billion barrells. oil companies would not control the price of our reserves since the Gov't owns it, the Gov't would ration gasoline as they did in the 70's. and there is not one single reputable source on the entire planet to say how much oil is left underground, its impossible and has been proven many times.

go do some research before you come on here babbling about something you obviously have no clue about

the U.S. PRODUCES HALF of the oil it consumes yearly. If we actually gev a ---- about not being gluttonous pigs we'd probably only have to farm out 20% or so to other countries. This isn't really the problem, as somebody pointed out, It's the REFINERIES that got smashed up by that storm so gas production is supposedly going to drop. I think it's all a bunch of ---- that we're being fed and the oil companies really do run the U.S.

And what the ---- does China have to do with anything? They recycle their own farts over there. They get their oil from Russia anyway....

Wait... didn't Russia invade the Middle East as some point in the 70-90's? Maybe there's a correlation?

no they didnt.

they were at war with afganistan & the rebels there. they were trying to extend the iron curtain.

the government, liberal politicions, and various enviromental groups wont allow new refineries in the US.
