Default Rebuild

I just found out how much my rebuild parts will be and its way more then i thought it would be..the engine was running fine before..i just want some opinions do you think i will be fine with just honing the cylinders and putting new rings on....(providing theres no wear on my bearings) + origional oil pump with turbo?

if the engine is running, fine, it's fine. If the comp test shows that it sucks, I'd say ---- it and buy a cheap SOHC ZC.

Sorry to jack, but I didnt want to start a new thread on this, I have a SOHc ZC in my civic, and I want to build an engine over winter, I was thinking of picking up a D16Z6, should I do that or build up the ZC? Its for a turbo application fully built bottom end.

4th gen, if you are getting the Z6 for next to nothing, that would be my choice.

I'd say try to find the cheapest option & go with it.

If you have the turbo parts now, and the engine's compression is worth a damn, go on ahead and get that ---- boosted. While you are driving around with a fun turbo car waiting for something to break, you can start saving up for internals.
