Default rear oxygen sensor woes

Howdy. I just picked up a 96 dx hatch off a buddy of mine. When he purchased it he went and spent some $2300 on parts and had me install them. I put on an aftermarket header. Of course with this model the cat is in the exhaust manifold near the head. So recently I put a new cat converter underneath the car after the header, and grabbed a bosch universal 4 wire o2 sensor. I wired it up per the instructions, and the cel finally went off about 800 miles later. I go to autozone to have the diagnostic ---- done, and the code is still there. Does it need to be reset? Does it need rewired? Anyone have any diagrams that are a little more user friendly? I need to have the car emission tested soon, and it automatically fails if there are any codes. The cel light is off, but the code is still there...........any ideas?? Mucho Gracias

So if you clear the code it comes right back but the MIL does not appear? Just try clearing it again and see if it stores in the ecu or not.

I didnt try clearing the code.......that ill do first thing tomorrow. Im relatively new to hondas......Ive tinkered with them, but not too much yet. Im not sure on how long the codes stay stored in obd2 cars. Like in saturns, If your cel pops up and you manually (disconnect the battery, and unplug the ecu) it will turn off the cel, but stay stored in there for some weird period of time.

no, because if the ecu sees the exact same readings as B1s1 and S2 it will throw a cataylist effiency code.
