you really have to look at the time in which Pryor grew up...there is no denying that the 50's, 60's and 70s were HEAVILY racial times in which blacks were badly treated in this country. there is no denying that. so yeah technically he DID grow up in "racist America" because at that time even YOU cannot deny that there was a SERIOUS problem with racism and discrimination...granted times have changed and back then not all whites were bad, but regardless it was no walk in the park...

Instead of takingto heart what a person here types, look at the source. I.
