Pryor once marveled "that I live in racist America and I'm uneducated, yet a lot of people love me and like what I do, and I can make a living from it. You can't do much better than that."
I'm not sure what year this comment was made or how racist America was, but the rest of it sounds pretty logical. It's not super rare for a black person to claim the whole world as racist, so by him saying he didn't go to school, yet found something he liked to do, people liked it, and he made a living off it seems pretty rational to me. I didn't follow him, and never heard of his racism complaints, but if he was a super racist, that's his own downfall.

he made his living as a comedian telling racist jokes basically. most of which where for black people talking about "the man"
