Default A quick legal question.

I just need to know, would it be legal for me to pre-emptively kick someone's *** if they threaten bodily harm to me? Not that I'm going to sucker punch him, it's just that I don't want to wait for this ------ to throw the first punch.

find a witness. the story: he threw the first punch.

you could always claim self defense, and that you felt threatened. why does it matter? if you kick his *** hes gonna file charges?

He'd probably try, but the cops wouldn't understand his heavily accented French African ***. Here's the kicker: He's a "key employee" where I work. That's basically a fancy term for a guy who does manager ----, but doesn't get manager pay. He threatened me tonight and I have to work all day with him tomorrow. I'm not gonna throw down while clocked in but if he wants to have words with me after I'm out, then it's on like Donkey Kong.

I should just say that it is him that is completely in the wrong. My dad's muslim but I'm atheist, and when he found this out (he's a muslim too), ---- just got really weird. It's progressively turned from strange to hostile in the working environment. He's always had the holier-than-thou attitude, and I'm always getting the short end of the stick when it comes to tasks to complete, but this is the first time he's threatened me. If he wants to take it a step further, then it's going to be the last time he threatens me, too.

If he is creating a hostile work environment then bring him up on charges, or report him to his supierors, especially if you are being discriminated against.
You can also seek advice from someone who filed a report before, they would know who to speak to and how to handle it.
He sounds like he needs to be straightened out.
