cd key? LOL

---- using winxp utilities.. i pop in my old school ghetto windows 98 startup disc to get rid of old versions off the hard drive. for some reason i've found that if you try to install windows over older versions, sometimes it ***** up the install and leaves old ---- on the hard drive and other weird things..

I have no CD key. I just want to completely delete everything off this piece of ---- and put a nice clean version of XP on it. I think buying a new hard drive would make this really easy....

I hate computers. Computers suck. Honestly, if HMT wasn't around I probably wouldn't even have a computer.

I guess a new hard drive is the only option? That's ------- gay. I'd like to have a "Death match" with one of these lame *** mother ******* who sit at home all day making viruses and ----. ------- geeks....

You're using a Dell right? Are you trying this with the restore disk that it came with, or do you actually have a full XP install CD?

I have the original XP install CD that came with it, but some dipshit put Windows 2000 AND Windows 98 on it and I don't have the key codes for either of them. The ------- thing is so full of viruses it's rediculous.

EDIT: Yeah, it's a Dell laptop.

If a partition is an operating system, then yes. The little computer knowledge I have says that is a bad idea, but the "compuer guy" thought it was a good one.

make your self a boot disk from the control panel, then boot off of it. It should take you to a C prompt. Type "Format C:"
