Default Quick computer question....

Windows 2000 pro. How do I uninstall it? I need to erase this ---- and put XP on it. I'm not seeing the "erase operating system" button.

Put the Windows XP in the CD drive and let it boot off of it. I'm 90% sure that the Windows XP disc will let you format right from there (format, then install windows XP)

My personal opinion, stick with 2k

you just put the disc in and you can choose to overwrite your current operating system. Or if you think you have a virus or something, you can just format your hard drive by going into ms-dos and typing: format c: and that will kill everything and you can start fresh

Yeah, XP is pretty damn buggy. I hated windows 2000 too. Personally if I had a choice I woulda stuck with 95 or 98. Those are probably the least screwy.

1995 with all the patches and stuff ran like a charm.. too bad none of the new programs support it

The only operating system I ever had not crash on me was DOS. Maybe we should resort back to that.. haha

Well, Mr.Smarty pants, when you install the CD it says it can't write over the old operating system. Then is shuts down. It already has Windows98 and Windows 2000 on it, but the god damn thing is full of viruses. I'm going to try that formatc: thing.....

Ok, the format thing didn't work. It asked for some sort of code, which I'm sure I don't have. Any other options?
