Default Psp Question need some help

for those who have a PSP i need some help.

i bought one off egay and when i try to play the game it dosn;t read the disc. i put it in the right way the door closes and all that. but i only get the options of " file sharing" saved data utility" and memory stick. i don;t see a lil disc or anything like someone said i would see. can anyone help? i'm thinking its bad and that i should sell it off egay again and try and get my money back.
