these are the 2 we built using the ignitor system
my buddy steve about to launch one. the field is about 1/4 mile wide..you cant see from the pics because they are from a shitty camera phone. the potatoes launched over the field.

if you're going aluminum, its pointless for a combustion. (unless you want the look and weight of it, then knock yourself out, but properly socket welded PVC is safe) thanks to years of testing by hundreds of properly practiced solvent welding spudders.
the 250psi+ produced by a hybrid, is more than capable of handling itself in an aluminum gun, but fittings and unions will be the hardest part.
look up the definition of a hybrid on spudtech, it's basically like putting 30psi on a 12:1 motor. unless you did it right... hope you like 10 fingers. ---- gets nasty at 100psi explosions, i don't want to see 250+.
and yeah, safety is no problem. lots of people have used duct tape to wrap a gun up, but think. is duct tape going to stop a bullet going though a window? it's redundant. screws into the fittings AFTER its dry is about as much safety you can give, unless you thread/tap in a bunch of 1/4" or #10 bolts. and bracing is a must on any off angle stress areas (such as over/under design, usually needs the barrel braced from flexing in the fittings and breaking the weld) that may break.
idk what else to tell you
