Default problems with carbon fiber

Over the weekend, I was driving around to various car dealerships looking at new cars, as thats a common hobby of mine, and I went to look at an EVO (my dream car) and I was checkin out the CF wing and noticed it was pealing. I have looked at many evo's and never seen this problem.

heres the problem:
they put a clear coat on top of the carbon fiber. that clear coat was flaking off. i stood there and picked about a quarter size spot of clear off of the wing. also, it looked like "oxidation" under the clear coat. i mentioned this to the salesman and also the manager and he says "its the heat that gets trapped between the carbon fiber and the clear coat" i replied with carbon fiber is heat resistant.
am i right?

so why is the clear pealing off the carbon fiber. i have never seen this on any of the evo's or the STI's that i have looked at. i havent even heard of this problem.

anyone else ever seen this?

Do they come with carbon fiber wings from the factory?I didnt think they did.It might be an APC aftermarket one that they added.

Was there a tremendouse mak up for that wing on the sticker?

Ive noticed cheap carbon fiber tends to have a thin coat of clear and thats the one that most likey peels with heat.I learned thais while considering getting a hood for my civic.

But as far as I know carbon fiber by its self is sposed to be heat resistant.Ive seen intake manifolds be mande of carbon fiber.Valve covers too.If it resists under hood tempts I dont see it peeling from just sitting under the sum

yes, the 2004 evos came stock with a wing, and yes, it does add 100% function. dont ------ rock on it. its not apc.
the 05 evo has a wing option, and i think the MR edition also has a wing option.

i know carbon fiber is heat resistant, i just have never seen this problem with it flaking. its not the carbon fiber that is flaking, its the clear coat.

I know when I used to play around with carbon fiber you had to add a UV inhibitor to prevent the clearcoat from oxidizing. The peeling is probably cause of bad surface prep.

just go there and peel it off all their cars so it will be very notacible then when it comes to them actually selling the cars they'll have to either knock the price down significantly or fix it at their cost, and maybe when they start getting fed up with losing money they'll make mitsubishi fix the damn problem.

the ---- is very noticeable. especially after i stood there with the manager and peeled some of the ---- off.

i think its bad prep work or something, i have never seen it before. the manager told me it woould be covered under warranty.
