Post solid places I should move to

Post solid places I should move to
This spring or summer I plan to move somewhere.
Things I'm looking for:
1) Good supply of low stress, dead end jobs I can make $10-15 an hour doing.
2) Beautiful scenery. Lots of things to do outdoors.
3) Medium population density in a suburban area. If I want something, I don't want to have to drive very far but I don't want to be on top of my neighbors and ---- everywhere.
4) Not a shitty neighborhood full of half wits and rejects. I'd like to be the only one in a mile or two radius at least.
5) Moderate cost of living. Somewhere I can get a decent apartment for around $600 a month and a small house for around $1200-1500 that doesn't suck.
Places I'm thinking of:
1) South East. Basically south of Virginia.
2) Portland area. I want to hang out with a bunch of liberal hippies. Maybe even the Seattle area.
3) Arizona/Texas. I'll become a born against Christian, drink a lot of shitty domestic beer, and eat BBQ.
Give suggestions. I need to start planning.

don't move to portland.
you won't be able to afford a place on 10-15 an hour
they're forcing 20% or maybe 10%... not sure... ethanol in gas, gunna raise the price of gas and make your gas mileage go down
portland sucks and is full of ****

Re: Post solid places I should move to
Forget the cold. I should give the reference that I live in NJ. You'd have to suggest a seriously congested area like Los Angeles to get close to the population density I'm used to. Forget the cheap part, if the area offers cool stuff "for free" then it's worth the extra money in rent or other expenses. I just want to live in a nice place where I can simplify my life comfortably and surround myself with a more laid back lifestyle. None of this describes NJ so I'm pretty ready to move on.

Re: Post solid places I should move to
Colorado my friend. I just spent last summer working there, and it was the best time of my life. I was in aspen, and the cost of living (esp. renting) is ridiculous, but if you live downvalley from there in one of the other towns its not so bad, and there are tons of jobs if you don't mind driving say 20 or 30 min to work, because no normal people can afford to live in Aspen to work normal jobs. Most ski towns are like that i think. But seriously, theres no shortage of work in most decent tourist/ski towns, and most of it pays pretty well. I made 12.36/hr working for the forest service, and that was a peon wage for being in aspen. A regular job such as working in a restaurant would pay 17-20/hr. And colorado is ------- gorgeous, and if you're outdoors oriented, theres no place better in the lower 48 to live. PM me if you want some names of towns to look into
