Possible move to san diego cali or va
I might be moving to san diego California or virginaia near DC in about 3 to 6 months or so. Right now im more than halfway through my course here in north carolina for mechanics. Has anyone Attend in good community colleges with an autmotive program in the san diego california area or in virginia. Im definantely gonna finish out my school cause that peice of paper will make my life easier. But i dont wanna end up in a school that has a shitty as program in a one bay three wrench shop. Thanks for any help.

yea well gotta convimce the girl to wait and she hates nc. Just tryin to cover my bases so i dont end up somwhere with no kinda education and nothin to offer.

look into NOVA in VA...its the northern virginia community college. pretty sure they have an auto program, but I've never been there. I think a few guys on dragva.com go three though.
the auto program I was in was at montgomery college in Maryland though(about 30 minutes away)...we had 6 lifts with shop air, computer lab, 2 alighnment machines, area for teardowns, complete tool room and tons of other ----...plus they specialized directly in Suburus, so two WRXs and other subies to tinker on. the teachers are really good too.
as far as the cost of living in VA goes though..............................no comment

I've been a San Dog native for over 19 years. Trust me, the roads are so smooth, it's worth it. As far as smog laws go, be careful not to **** off the wrong pig. They WILL write yo *** up for the stupidest ----.
The community colleges aren't that bad, but your friend is right. Just finish there then, move. California's a bitch when it comes to education, just because almost half of the population can't even read or write, including me...

there are plent of opportunities for jobs in NOVA once you are done school, there are dealers everywhere, and they pay pretty good money
i work at a VW dealer in parts and make ~$42K a year and i've only been doing this for 1.5yrs and started w/ no exp.
some of the techs in the shop make well above $20/hr, even the noobs make like $16+hr
a lot of dealers here will even pay for your school loans if you work fro them for a certain amount of time
