I bet you could find an EVO in your price range if you looked around. Id rock that over the WRX IMHO.
If your only two choice are WRX or RSX, Id deff. take the RSX, and not because its a Honda, but because WRX's sound like they have a dead hole from the factory.

I voted WRX.
But I've never driven an RSX, so I can't say for sure which I would choose.
Things I love about the WRX:
- Stock turbo (tons of room to upgrade on the stock block)
- All wheel drive
- 4 doors (maybe you don't care about this one, but still, it's easy for people to get in and out of the back)
- Great brakes and handling (probably better than the RSX, but like I said, I've never driven an RSX)
- The sound! I know, not something to base a buying decision off of, but the deep throaty sound of an opened up WRX is bad ***.
I also love the look of a debaged, clean, wingless lowered WRX.
I say you drive both though, and make the decision afterwards.
Oh, and for what it's worth, there are tons of WRXs that show up on the autocross course and they typically do really well. On the other hand, I don't think I've ever seen an RSX show up to an autocross event. They handle really well stock.
But I've never driven an RSX, so I can't say for sure which I would choose.
