Many of you have never heard of a crank scraper. It is designed to scrape the extra oil of the crank as it spins, freeing lost horsepower.

I purchased one from an EBAY seller by the name of sammi1228. They shipped my item very fast and I had very friendly conversations with them regarding the product. I installed the crank scraper at the same time I installed several other parts so I cannot tell you an exact answer on any gains from the scraper.

Well, today I received a package in the mail from the same seller. I thought it was strange they sent me two crank scrapers. I thought maybe they had an error in the shipping department and sent an old customer a new customers part. After opening the rest of the package I found a new tube of RTV silicone, a new oil pan gasket, a new set of oil pan bolts, and a new crank scraper. Along with this was a letter explaining what had happened.

The crank scraper I had installed in my car was on backwards. I never paid any attention to it when I installed it due to the fact that I had several other parts to install at the same time. In order to correct this I would need all of the new parts the seller sent me.

Sorry to ramble on, but I feel that this seller went the extra mile to make sure the sale was positive. I would have never noticed this on my own. They didn't have to send me these parts. They could have just said all well and whats done is done, but they went the extra mile and fixed the problem. I know it was a mistake on thier part, but they didn't have to tell me something was wrong. Think about how much the new oil pan gasket, RTV, oil pan bolts, and shipping of all of this. They made nothing on this sale just to make the sale right.

any reviews anywhere? seems like something along the lines of removing your ac or ps belt to remove the parasitic drag..

wait, when oil splashes on to your cylinder walls, isnt that a good thing? otherwise how is the oil lubricating the cylinder wall if youre restricting it?...seems fishy to me, my dad is a mechanic and i just asked him about this, he said it sounds like a bad idea, he never seen this thing before tho so he dosnt really know how the engine will react to it. there will probably be an increase temperature for sure.
