PIR Drags 4.06.07
Went out to the drags last night, they had a couple things going on besides normal friday night drags - so everthing from low 9 race cars and bikes to the 18 second cars and trucks there there :P
Lots of cool old school cars there, sadly my batter died about half way through the night before everyone was going ***** out on the launches and lifting their tires. Some cool imports there too, none really all that fast (well down in the 13s and 12s for a couple) but the season is young and I am sure everyone has plans for improvement.
I was happy they let me pretty close to the track for photos this time, but I still couldn't get right up to it. Still ended up with some cool pictures though. Here are a few for you guys:

I would suggest looking at Nikon's website: http://www.nikondigital.com/main.html?page=coolpix Remember the MSRP/retail prices they show are often WAY above what you can really find it for. My camera retailed for $1,000 when it was new, and I bought it for about $700 from Newegg.com

Well I usually shoot metal concerts so I have my camera pretty dialed in for lower light situations. Last night I believe I was shooting mostly at 1/60 when it was still daylight, and 1/30 when it was dark and the main light was artificial. Check your camera's book for suggestions on how to achieve better photos in low light situations, or do a google search and see what other people have to say about the particular model.

I agree that photo looks like it could use a little work, the thing is all the photos from my camera are about 4 megs each... so to share them easier I generally just resize and lower the quality a bit. When I actually present my photos to clients (existing or future) they are always MUCH better quality, not so much noise and crap. Also things like simple borders can help.
Here is a quick example of something I would do, adjusted the color balance a bit, less noise, and simple border:
Still not highest quality, but at least its not a 4 meg photo.
