install dd-wrt sinister, then read the wiki for bridging sinister. Or if you can't figure it out, lemme know.
I get decent range from the router, but im using high gain antennas I took from walmart back during my klepto days when they cost $100 for the set. I pick up 3-8 networks but most are usually locked.

my buddy actually made one of those range extenders out of an old DirectTV dish and it worked pretty good, we couldnt figure out what kind of range it had because he lives in the middle of ------- no where but it deffinatly boosted the signal a lot from one end of the house to the other. i was thinking of making something small that i could put in my car so i can get internet on my tunning laptop whenever im in town

Depending on the location, in a local town called Butler I can pull off most anywhere and pick up internet if I need to. Right by the library = ****, really good signal and they got a sweet *** connection. I'd hang out with friends and just let my lappy steal internet and download/upload torrents lol
trying the dd-wrt thing now. We'll see how this goes.
