9mm has 326 muzzle energy
Oh yeah, I'm comparing Federal Premium Home defense loads, 45 ACP JHP @ 230 grains, 40 S&W @ 180 Grains, 9x19mm @ 147 grains.
Since most people carry an old school single stack 45 with 7+1, a G22 in 40 S&W with 15+1 is a clear advantage.
Oh yeah, the Federal PD 40 S&W loads I use have 432 muzzle energy with a 135gr bullet, better expansion, less likely to over penertrate, perfect inside a house or other structure.

Re: Open carry would you or no?
I feel like you'd just be asking for trouble in the long run. Even if you live in a state where it's legal to openly carry, you know the law is gonna want to see your license all the ------' time. I'd just rather not deal with those ****** if I can avoid it. And I'd rather someone DIDN'T KNOW that I was strapped if they're gonna start some ----.

I don't like open carry, but concealed is just fine by me.
I'm taking my test for Concealed Carry on Friday with my bro's Glock 21.
I'm either getting a Glock 23, XD 40 or save up some more cash to get the H&K USP pretty soon
