An 85 Omni GLH should have come with a 287 head with is what is called a bathtub head. A 782 is a later head known as a swirl. The swirl has some definite shaping in the chamber to promote the flame travel. The 782 flows less and requires less spark advance. There is the possibility that someone did swap in an entire T2 motor with the better bottom end. The weak link will be the transaxle if is is still the 525, but in a lightweight omni it should not be too bad. What boost level is the car running?

Car runs over 20psi it is stupid fast. Thanks for info
