who do you even talk to about what to do? DMV doesn't usually know ----. Could the guy you sold it to have been insured and just not transferred the title?

I Talked to some fat black woman who typed up some bs in her computer. I am pretty sure she was incompetent, as most dmv employees are

if you submited the release of liabilty and he didn't complete transfer, you will be labeled the registered owner with him being the lien/legal owner.

meaning you get it out, he holds true ownership and can come get it if he wants.

if you didn't submit release of liabilty, it's a different story. it's yours. just make sure you apply for a new title [say you lost the orignial, to make te original one he has invalid] and plates while you are at it. Salvage cars still get issued pink slips don't know why you didn't get one.

Is it just me, or are Murdoc's knowledgabilities completely out of control?

Well he is 150%. He's like some distant ethnic cousin to Manbearpig.

Same thing happend to me.

Sold a car to a coworker
mailed out the release of liability form that same day
Coworker never registerd it
Sells it to a wetback
Car gets impounded
Tow yard sends me the bill (1200)
I tell them i dont own it
3 months Later i get a collection notice
Go to the dmv and get a printout stating that i released interest in the vehicle 3 days after i sold it. (cost me 5$)
I call the collection agency manager and told him i dont owe them ----.
They tried to scare me and threatened to sue and ---- up my credit.
I told them they would lose and i would countersue them for wasting my time.
I fax them the DMV printout, and a bill for 5$ for the cost of the DMV form.
I now called them 4-8 times a day in an attempt to collect the 5$ they owed me.
It was fun ------- with them. for a change.

So yeah go to the DMV and get that printout. and take them to court if you have to.

oh man that was fun. i should have just let them take it to court, it would have been fun to see the look on their faces when i busted out the DMV printout.
