as some of you know i swapped a d16z6 (+ uberdata p28 + obd1 distro + 450dsms with my stock ef resistors) into my car only to find out the head had bent valves :-/
So i threw in my A6 head to get it running and; well; THE MOTHER ****** WON'T RUN!

i've tried everything; it gets fuel; it gets spark and it gets air. the block-head timing is spot on and the ignition timing is probably not right but i can see the cylinder one firing a bit before TDC with the timing light. I don't have a z6 timing belt cover to set the timing with exactly but i should at least be getting something shouldnt i?!

Today i replaced the cap and rotor thinking maybe it wasn't getting enough spark but that didnt help.

I did get it to fire when i unplugged the fuel pump and as soon as it started sputtering i plugged it back in and it ran VERY rough and i had to give it a fair amount of throttle to keep it going. my dad moved the distro but it didnt help a whole lot and eventually died.

What the ---- could my problem be? i'm not throwing any check engine lights; the obd0-obd1 harness is wired right (at least in the car and the distro isn't throwing any codes); and i'm 99.9% sure the block/cam timing is right...

I'm seriously about to throw in the towel and sell this ------- hunk of ---- car and never ever look at another Honda as long as i live if this thing doesn't fire up soon.

The distributor only goes on one way. If you look at the shaft, the slot is offset to one side. So timing cannot be off 180.

yeah it can if you really really force it on there. D series is prety hard to do B series is easy to do.

ok.. so .. 450's w/ resistor. p28 chipped obd1 dist, z6 motor w/ a6 head.

are you still using the obd1 dist?

you DID get a obd0-obd1 harness right?

ok... here's the thing... you went w/ a whole new set-up that changed everything... ecu, injectors, head, dizzy, etc....
what you need to do is put your obd0 dizzy back on, stock ecu back in, old injectors back on, and pull the wastegate actuator arm off. this will allow you to troubleshoot the problem.

then you will be able to tell where the problem lies...

problem is; the obd1 harness is hardwired into the car; can't go back to the pm6 if i wanted to.

I threw my old 240cc injectors back in the fuel rail and cut J1 but it did the same ----;

I am working on trying to replace the distro so maybe soon....


this ****** is really pissing me off. i guess i'm just going to have to wait until i get the other Z6 head in to make it work :-/

yes; and yes; does no one read?

the obd1 harness is hardwired into my car and the distro is hardwired into the engine harness with molex plugs :-/
no ------- salvage yards around here had ANYTHING obd0 or obd1 honda that i could use i have checked continutity between all the wires on the engine harness and the distro and i get no codes; still doesn't mean i wired something backwards i guess :-/ but i dont know how wiring something backwards would effect the car

cam timing off? sounds like it
