oh snaps I fucked my car up
Alright so I've been working on changing the head out because the old one had bad valve guides/seals and we had an extra one laying around. Didn't think it'd be much of a problem since I've taken the head off and put it back on before without any problems (or experience). I was wrong as hell and this has been nothing but a bigass hassle.
Today I got everything back together, timing belt on it, etc. I crank it up and it sounds like complete ---- like it's about to fall apart, and revs up by itself. Vacuum leak for the reving up? Why the hell would it sound like ***? I don't know how it could possibly be "wrong." Firing order is correct, you can't really ---- up a head that you're putting on, rockers/arms can't be fucked up. WTF? The head hasn't been used in a loooong time, maybe it'll just run rough until it lubricates? Just don't understand why it would run so bad. It stays running, but doesn't sound too good at all. The cam/crank turn freely, so nothing is binding.
I'm about to give up on ths damn thing. Anyways give me some ideas. I don't want to go to honda-tech and get a buncha bullshit.
Oh yeah, I got a ckp sensor code

MY money is on Vac leak or timing also, It would have nothing to do with the head or else the car would not run at all.
First make sure the firing order is correct according to the manual.
then if that dont work make sure all your vac sources are hooked up and there are no open ports, also check the timing with a timing gun and make sure its at 16* +/- 2*
If that dont work, then replace the intake manifold gasket and throttle body gasket, also replace the IACV and make sure it seals well.
Dont give up, Just go through all your steps, hell check the wiring and make sure all of the plugs in the back of the intake manifold are plugged in to their correct sensors, there are 3 plugs that are exactly the same.
Look it over for a bit and I'm sure you'll figure it out in less than a hour.
Any engine codes? if so check in the book what they are.

I'm more worried about the shitacular quality of operation. I'm *hoping* it's the timing. I checked/set it a few times but it keeps going out of time even though there aren't teeth missing on the belt. New headgasket, intake/throttle gasket. Tomorrow I'll do the t-belt over again...
This thing is just pissing me off. My first repair ever was changing a head gasket and timing belt on my old del sol. I had it done in less than 24 hours without any problems. This ***** been ongoing for quite a while now, have been slacking though.
