Default WAS offering $500 for someone to install turbo in my car

WAS offering $500 for someone to install my turbo correctly in LA or GLENDALE California area *if you want to tow it to somewhere farther where you live to work on it, it's fine with me*
this is my story: i gathered all the parts, and then installed everything, had pipes cut, bent, installed, turbo and all bolted on..etc.etc.. i ran it but had trouble with idling, but it was cuz i think it was my bad tuning, but in any case..i used wrong bolts *not high heat type* for the downpipe to turbo housing, so it came loose, and im not about to take everything apart and install it all over again, i also took my radiator fan *which i made my engine overheat once*
i am seriously frustrated, little stupid mistakes are making me redo everything over and over. i am sick and tired of this!
if you want to install my crap properly once, so i dont have to worry about bolts fallin off or some crap, ill pay you $500. call me at my cell 818-919-3503

i am in desperate need of help.

p.s. please dont leave stupid comments like "if i lived in california, id do it for $500!" cuz that aint helpin

$500? I have never installed a turbo kit before, but I will fly down and do it for you for that much money.

You should be able to find a nice shop to do it for that kind of money.. bolts coming loose is not uncommon.. I know you ran into alot of problems but you had alot of help from here. How close is Blind to you? if someone could just come over to assist.. You will feel better in the end knowing how it works and doing it yourself.. Any low buck kit using used parts will have problems down the road so its important to know how to fix/replace things.

yo sniperpain... if i were you, i would just do it myself. at least you will KNOW that it is done right. its not a turbo, but i wish i just installed my motor in my car myself. i spent more time fixing what those jerks from a local shop fucked up on my car than i would have spent if i just did the whole thing by itself. i had to figure out everything that those dicksniffers did wrong, and then find out how to fix it.

if you really want to find someone to fix your car, you could find that socal barbeque post, and then private message the people who signed up (obviously they are in socal). otherwise if you decide to take your ---- to a shop... see if you can research the shop before you take it there. dont take it to a shop that will ---- your ---- up worse than how you gave it to them. see if you can find any of their satisfied customers and talk to them.

i dunno, i would hate to see a fellow HMT'er waste $500 and have their car worse than they started. good luck whatever route you take.

thanks, but im just really frustrated, id figured i would run into few problems, but this is just b.s....
during the first installation, i tapped the oil pan right behind the downpipe, so i had to unbolt the pan and retap it and bolt it back again *pain* i had to cut pipes myself *pain* i drove about 3 times into downtown for someone to bend my ic pipe cuz i kept getting the angle wrong *pain* everything installed, but had heat problems since i removed my radiator fan for room so i overheated and had to park it for 1 hour *pain*, also had idle problems and neighbors complaining about noise *pain* fixed noise from wastegate by playing around with vaccum hose, but then no boost *pain* then put back vaccum and boost lines back how they were, but no boost at all cuz downpipe started coming loose from turbo *pain!* AND NOW.....im unbolting ALL my crap AGAIN! just to put a gasket and high temp bolts this time! and now my pipe size is wrong cuz i cut it to move it to the side, so my radiator fan would fit back into place *pain* and oh yeah, the bov is now really high on the pipe since i cut it wrong, and i tried to close the hood, and i dented the hood with the bov's vaccum fitting *pain* now i need to go drive back and buy a new pipe once more and hopefully get the angle right the first time *pain* then i STILL need to install my radiator fan and hope i have room for the turbo intake, removed turbo assembly and bolt the right bolts and gaskets this time, then install it all back, ETC..ETC..!!!!! im getting pissed guys...someone please assist, call, something, im really really in a bad mood, just call and be like.."its going to be ok sonny! hang in there! im coming over and ill bring my magic tools!"
anyways, my $500 still stands if anyone takes the offer, i could do it myself, but like i said, im getting tired of all the little b.s. that is adding up...

it sounds like alot of your problems are just inexperience and I know for a fact you were working very late and that clouds your judgement and prevents you from spotting mistakes ahead of time. Take a breath.. Find a ride to work tomorrow. Clear your head.. come home and work on only the things that will let you drive the car. The turbo charge pipes don't need to be hooked up. Only hook up the lower vac port on your wastegate.. Before you put the bolts back in scratch them with a screw driver.. This will prevent the threads from backing out. Put some silicon on all joins and double check that everything is tight. Do just the exhaust for now.. You will probably need to pick up a slim fan and mount it in front of the radiator.. You need atleast one small fan to keep the temp down.

Now, you CAN do this.. you have already done it.. you just need to do it right this time. What is the problem with the charge pipes? If need be use some pvc.. it works great.

Alright so the plan is? Get a good nights sleep.. Don't drive the car tomorrow.. If that means calling in sick then do it. Get a plan for what NEEDS to be done for it to run. Then do it, stay calm, and think things out.

Ok thats enough of a pep talk for one night.

I think this site is dedicated to the do it yourself'ers, If this is your first time doing somthing like this, Your gaining experience on what not to do. You know what mistakes you've made, and how to correct them, as well as knowing your way around your setup when somthing breaks. I think once youve made it through the frustration of learning as you go, you will have the satisfaction of having done it yourself. Or maybe you should take that five hundred dollars and put it down on somthing you dont have to work on.
