after some reported issues, I'm being careful with the D diffs from now one.

.015" runout is not good, Quaifes are normally .002-.003"

I only set that up since a guy in PR had two that were out of spec......I happens to have a Quaife/GearX 4.9 on the bench for a SCCA customer.....

HArbor Freight for the gauge and holder, $20 well spent. Not the utmost in accuracy, but I'm not building the Space Shuttle either. If it becomes an issue, you'll know about it from me. This issue could ruin my side hobby/business.

Easiest way to think of it is that measured at that one point the surface moves in/out that distance.

I've been running the same OBX diff since day one, boosted fo eva, no problem except when its time to remove the axles the passenger side is stuck, so I remove it by tapping it out from the drivers side using a punch.

Anyone able to comment on performance of the OBX vs Quaife? The Cobalt has a Quaife and I've driven ones with open differentials and didn't feel much of a difference.
