NW Meet: Ronin's Turbo B18b EG Hatch
Well this install took place yesterday at my house, username: Ronin/Ecko1980 Mike J.. wanted to a turbo his EG Hatch w/ a B18b LS / GSR trans. I've known Mike a few years now and finally convinced him into turboing a honda.
The car
Working in a garage in the cold isnt exactly what I'm use to, but its the only way we can get "meets" together.. Can't really be busting out beers at my work and doing burnouts, but it worked out ok.
Brang the mig home from work, didnt know but my garage has 70amp service and Mikg G wired up 220.
The ****
The manifold, its from LSD Motorsports it looked pretty good, flanges were pretty thin...
The Turbo 60/63 Mustang SVO T3. One of the largest factory turbos you can find on a mass produced car. It was very clean. Oil and Water Cooled.
Mike J flat-rating (coughbreaking) the oil feed line kit from Tunertoys/Stealthmode and Mike G stripping out bolts
JohnnyRacecar's oldschool 5in Intercooler
------ed with a radioshack switch and a sweet hose clamp.
Mike G doing a fine job of cutting out the bumper, we wanted to keep the front grill in tact, so it was a bit tricky, but using a airhack-saw it really makes things pretty easy..
The Ron Jeremy **** Shot
Dave lee (leed) and Steve (88dx) show up in the icey hot crx with the new Irocz camaro hood mod. hahhahaha
Setting up the Geek Pack Station
Shortly after the power went out and we just started drinking and made a fire.
More brake cleaner was used in the fireplace than it was on the car.
Power came on about a hour later and we went back to work.
Steve and Dave did a real sweet job on the injector wiring (DSM 450's / Resitor box) :1
Taking a hit of the gayest looking blow off valve I've ever seen.
Steve mixing up a batch of JB weld for the Oil Pan
Flat-rate drying process
The nw guys
All the chargepipes and downpipe mocked up. I was just gonna mig them, but for some reason the mig wasnt working that great.
So we get shuttled over to beaus house by Dustin in his GSR that got worked by Navigator hahahah!
Beau welding up all the pipes
MGD through the straw
Dave with a ---- eating grin on his face
All Done, it turned out pretty good. It took longer to tune it than anything, when Mike and Dave were out street tuning the shifter stabalizer bar/bushing that holds the shifter in place came out for some reason and dave had to hold it up for 15 mins on the drive back hah. Then we just had some minor problems with the ecu (that was already socketed) dave assumed it was ready to go, but it still needed some work. We put the boost controller on it and turned it up to around 10psi for now. Still running a stock fuel pump.
Overall yesterday went pretty good, alot better than I expected.
Thanks to..

Re: NW Meet: Ronin's Turbo B18b EG Hatch
Good ----. I emailed you for directions to come out and hang/help/learn something but figured you were all out at it already. I would have called you but i left my phone at work over the weekend. I tend to leave my phone places at the wrong time.
