Default Now for something completely different

I'm gonna buy a 1.8 liter 7a-fe for the FX. I have this wonderful 8 injector setup that simply will not work on a 7a-fe. It is made to fit anything with the equivalent head to a 1990 corolla 4a-fe, such as a chevy nova or geo prizm which also came with the toyota 4a-fe. How much do you guys think the whole intake manifold, both rails, and all of the injectors are worth?

Dude, compare a 7a-fe & 4a-fe intake mani gasket, Im sure you could modify your custom mani to work. Good idea on switching to a 7a-fe though.....

The whole GE head will bolt directly to the 7a-fe block. Then you'll have a fatty 7a-ge. Do it. I'm telling you. Do it now!!!

The only deal with the 7a-ge is the fact that I would need another new exhaust manifold, 4af and 7af heads have same exhaust. Oh yeah, plus the cost of buying two motors, not one. And I'd need some adjustable cam gears to make sure everything was degreed to some kind of baseline, not a guess. I know it's been done, and been sucessful, but the only reason I'd have to switch to the GE head is for the higher redline which the 1.8 bottom end wouldn't like. Plus, I am going to TOTALLY rewire this time, not just part-way, so I want to stay with the MAP sensor deal. Few GE's came with MAP and I'm not in the hunting mood. Oh yeah, and the 7a-fe has a really, really nice combustion chamber design with 8 intake ports and I think I could port it even more to probably flow better than a small port 4age. The real reason I don't keep my manifold is because it has a small, 4a-fe tuned plenum and a smaller throttle body than the 1.8 would like.

Question- does anyone know if the 7a-fe will bolt to 4a-fe transmission?
