Northstar V8 is lighter yet. Search for VW's with Northstars in them, lighter than the VR6 by a lot. Fits like a glove in the MK2 bay too.

quit beating off the sport compact car mags. one guy did it and it really isnt worth it IMO. 300 crank HP comes alot easier w/ a turbo
