Same deal as the MS, so I don't see the criicism there? The AEM is also a known hardware config, whereas the MS are the wild ------- west sometimes, and that introduces a whole other order of complexity to them. If you are a geek who likes to tinker they are awesome.

I didn't mean to turn this into a bash MS thread, I'd run one myself on certain cars (sub 275 whp Miatas, yum) as they can do a good job. But, if you are trying to use one for a non-standard vehicle they are sometimes a piece of ----. Then again so are AEM units on Nissans with that 10000000000 tooth sensor wheel or an MSD distributor; everything has it's problems.

Here's some MS winnage:

The car was running 8.3's in the 1/8th with his old 176 whp T2 setup on street tires, now it's on a T28 from a GTi-R at double the boost so I figure 250+ whp - no track times yet as he shattered a diff and an axle two weeks ago at the strip, but it's gently strolled past a 310 whp CRX I also tuned so the power is there.

I was afraid the extra power would destabilize the car, but here's a quote from the Miata's owner when I chatted with him last:

the balance on entry/exit and mid corner is damn near perfect
still got it to bite on exit and the turbo spool is perfect

definitely open's up on race tires
the body finally starts to roll
and you can relaly feel it
super controlable
