You would have to convert to a 2 wire IAC and if you don't have a Y8 intake its a pain in the ***.

but i have a d15b7 intake with the iacv that im planning on installing... will that do the job? i know its not a z6 or y8 but its p&p to accept a 60 mm TB.

Yup that will do. You will need a burner at some point but we can use mine the day of the install. You will need a P06 ecu and a conversion harness. I got mine at www.jdmshit.com Just get the correct one. There is the OBDIIa and ODBIIb a is 96-98 and b is 99-00

so that's all i need? where do i get the uberdata software, etc? i don't know anything about uberdata or changing over to OBD1...
will my car run fine on the stock P06 with a stock d16y7?

Yeah it will run ok. THe P06 map stock map isn't great but it works. I have Uberdata on my laptop and we can use my map to start with or someone elses if you like. The P06 has to be chipped to run Uberdata. You can order the kits from www.moates.net its the Uberkit and its $15 plus shipping. I have one you can buy from me if you want. I have an extra I will bring if you haven't gotten one by then. The big item is the conversion harness. Non of this will work without it.
So you need:
P06 or P28 ECU
OBDII A or B to ODBI conversion harness
Uberdata chipping kit, or I can bring my extra
I can supply the laptop and burner when we get to the install
I suggest you buy a burner so you can tune.

bermenator...you should consider coming to the dyno tuning section in PA in october. there are gonna be a few of us there and xenocron is gonna be tunning our cars. cost about 100 bux. well worth it if you ask me. we get the thing all day too

that sounds good but im not sure id be able to make it all the way out to PA. if i go with the uberdata, how hard would it be to tune my car / have it tuned professionally? i really know nothing about this, and i'd want a setup that would be readilly tunable -- i dont want to be driving around on some basemap where my car barely idles for 2 months...
