Noob projects & pics
Well I've been coming to this site for a while, pretty much just researching for my project, but figured I'd show you all what I've accomplished thanks to help from HMT
My latest project is a 89 SI. Bought it from the original owners, ran and I drove it for a while before deciding that I was tired of being slow. So I decided to go ls/vtec, just to try it. I've owned gsr and b16 hatches, but thought why not give this a shot. So I bought a complete B18B1 out of a 98 ls for $300, then bought a complete B18C1 that had a spun bearing, for $250 (kid was a retard, didn't have a clue what the head alone was worth) I freshened up the bottom end, put in a Golden Eagle block guard, Cometic Head gasket, changed the oil pump and water pump, new timing belt and all that crap. I also didn't want to have to ---- with the intake butter flies, so I removed them and tapped and plugged both ends of the plate, put some new gaskets in and put the intake back together. I bought a B17 tranny and a set of mounts from a buddy of mine, bought a new 6 puck, new axles, and made some linkages, and went to town.
I knew that I was going to turbo this car at some point, so I bought a RYWIRE conversion harness, and converted it to obd1. I had my buddy throw in a chip kit in a P28 and burn a map off of crome pro. The car ran great, pulled hard *** hell. Out of all the vtec cars I've owned, the vtec in this hit the hardest. Needless to say, the day finally came when this ---- got boosted. After getting my *** handed to me by a cobra (I later found out he's running 14psi) I decided it was time for boost. The turbo is a changy t3/t4, running an oil restrictor (have 3k and no shaft play or smoke, but we'll see how long she lasts ) cast mani, RS Type BOV, 7 psi spring, and some DSM 450's
I bought a 2.5" mandrel intercooler piping kit as well as a 2.5" mandrel exhaust kit from Racing solutions and did the DIY intake and
exhaust. A little example of the mad welding skills. Or as well as can be done with a 110 mig. . Also sporting the improvised windshield washer reservoir.
My Buddy messing with the new tuning stuff we just got from Xenocron. After a couple hours and a half tank of gas later, she runs like a raped ape and idles as smooth as a new car.
Just a few other projects:
We got a little drunk and started putting H22's in everything
I'll get some more pics and **** on here in the morning. It's 3:17am and I gotta work in 7 hours
