Default nog says internet sites should be regulated "tougher"

because his nog son committed suicide on web cam

what a piece of ----, your worthless son kills himself. now everyone else has to suffer.

OOHHH PLEASSSSS GOVT DOOO SUMTHIN OUR CHILDINS BE KILLING DEMSELFS

100% this worthless ------- voted for obama. i think this nog should off himself on tv too.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081123/...webcam_suicide

MIAMI – The father of a college student whose suicide was broadcast live over a webcam said Saturday he was appalled by the virtual audience that egged on his son and called for tougher regulation of Internet sites.

Abraham Biggs Sr. said those who watched and the Web site operators share some blame in his 19-year-old son's death.

"I think after this incident and probably other incidents that have occurred in the past, they all point to some kind of regulation is necessary," Biggs said. "I think it is wrong to have this happen for hours without any action being taken from the people in charge. Where were they all the time?"

yes its the internets fault his son killed himself. if the internet wasnt ever invented he would have never thought about killing himself. im sure it had nothing to do with that fact that he was BIPOLAR, as they stated he used those meds to kill himself.

I don't believe in censorship and I don't think this is a strong case for why the internet should be censored. With that said, it says a lot about our society if fellow members are willing to log on to some internet website to see some random kid off himself. I'd almost rather have some censorship so I wouldn't have to think about a bunch of random people logging on the internet to see some bipolar kid kill himself and the millions more that logged in after the fact to see what everyone is talking about.

Yes, because the worst thing in the world we can do is require websites like Justin.tv to not host people offing themselves. What a travesty that would be!

Again, I'm not suggesting censorship is the answer to anything. I'm also not in favor of the censorship of such sites. All I'm saying is, I don't think I'd be incredibly upset if someone required websites like Justin.tv to not host mentally unstable individuals killing themselves. If you want to host a website like Justin.tv you have to take some responsibility. If this idea bothers you that much, go protest the FCC. What they do is a hell of a lot worse than suggesting Justin.tv should have taken down the stream and should maybe do things in the future to prevent such things from being broad casted on their service.

so many people... just want and want and want big brother to control everyone and everything they don't like.

the FCC regulates public airways.

websites are not run on/in any publicly controlled means. at least yet, maybe the govt will "nationalize" the internet.

by your logic HMT should be shutdown because there are several threads a month showing dead bodies and other questionable ---- like that.

how the ---- is someone supposed to know who is mentally unstable? and what government agency would set the regulations? department of mental abilities evaluation?

your avatar is wierd, and IMO i think you're mentally unstable because of it being wierd. you should be banned from the internet because you might do something sometime.

crazy

---- censorship. If someone wants to kill themselves online, let them do it. It'd be impossible to censor just the suicidal people without impeding on my "freedom."

Reminds me of "ripper" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Vedas

And damn, I never realized it was on the shroomery IRC. I've been there a few times It doesn't surprise me they egged him on to do more drugs. After all, it's a drug forum.

how about you just stay the ---- off sites you don't want to look at and shut the ---- up about it?

kid killed himself, who really cares besides his family? if you want to point the responisibility wand at someone, start with the weak minded kid, then his family. the website had absolutely no part in this.

EDIT: that 19 year old "kid" was actually an adult. ---- him.

should be a law, maybe you can only incurage people to kill themselves say 3 times or something like that, there should be a limit.
