did you buy your equipment as a kit? or just peice it together? I know here at HMT we don't do kits. What would I need to start trying this? That looks awesome man.

I originally bought a kit for $85 but since have replaced some of the plastic components with glass an purchased a few things to make bottling and sanitizing easier. I am also working on converting a half barrel into a brew kettle and another into a mash pot so i can do 100% all grain batches from scratch.

My old roommates dad used to brew beer, guess he has even won awards. If any of you guys every get to go to a home brew party with a bunch of old guys that do nothing, but drink beer, do it! I think every beer they had was at least 6% and sometimes up to 12% alcohol. Some of it tasted like *** to me, but most of it was great.
