If I DO decide to go HMT on the stock motor (it'll get boosted one way or another dont worry), I dont expect to invest more than $1.5k for ~300 reliable whp.

Re: New whip
---- ya, sounds like a good deal. 7 psi on stock compression=fun. I have heard that 10 psi is max without putting in a thicker head gasket. I have seen many dyno sheets of guys running 300-320 to the wheel on only 6-7 psi. Is it auto or manual? Supposedly the autos are stronger but I have yet to verify this.
I figured you would be working on it youself, seems lke many is300 owners dont even change there own oil. I want to seem more solid hmt setups on this car, not prefabed turbo kits costing 5 grand. You have the miata with the AEM f/ic right? I have read that the AEM piggy works real good on this car.

Re: New whip
yeah I am not one of those guys that lets other ppl change his oil. Only reason I'd take my car to a shop is if it's a)under warranty or 2)in need of an alignment.
Yep I've got the miata with the F/IC and figured it'd work pretty good on the IS. It's a pretty kick-*** piggyback.
Short list of ---- to do:
1. figure out the electrical problem
2. get a driver floor mat
3. detail, claybar, wax
4. flush/fill ATF, oil, oil filter, diff fluid, air filter if needed.
5. wait until this SOB is paid off
my payments is like $360 but im gonna try and do $500 every month to pay it off quicker = boost it quicker.
edit: I've heard from several ppl that the autos are a bit stronger than the manuals.

Re: New whip
aww shiet, another is300? I can say i was the first one, nice choice in color. My buddy dynoed at like 340whp @ 7 lbs with a t4/sc61. He pretty much pieced up his whole kit and is running the aem f i/c. I was going to boost my car right now, but decided to wait off till i paid this bitch off. i'm going to do the r154 swap, gte internals and roll with it lol. And i do change my own oil, just not in the winter time.
edit: hit up my.is or isfanatics.com or clublexus.com if you haven't already. my.is is pretty much the honda-tech for IS car's.
