New Welding goodness.
Well, I finally bought my first welder. lol. It's a Lincoln SP135T mig. It's soooooooooo fun.
I'll trade welding services for lunch to MN HMT!!!! The first night I had it I hadn't bought the gas yet. I started making a welding cart, and the welds look like ***. With the new gas, it's 500 times better. I don't even know why I tried to flux core it.

Which helmet did you get? I looked at a "speedglas" helmet today at the welding store, but the guy wanted $170 for it.
I see alot of cheap ones on ebay, I just don't know which one to trust. The speedglass one is made by 3M (Which Cray's mom works for ) so I'm gonna ask him what kind of discount he can get.

for a nice autodark your gonna pay like 80 bucks..you can get an adjustable one with the bigger window for 150plus...most of the time i just use my standard shade 11 lens..cuz after a day of welding you still get the itchys with the autodark..

I know what you mean about the flux core to gas difference Steve. First welder I bought was a flux core and there was spatter like mad. Then my brother said I could have his mig welder and it made me feel like a pro compared to the flux core. I am not sure of the model that I have, but it looks very similar to yours, I like it alot. My wife bought me a $60-$70 auto-darkening helmet from one of those tool books. It works well and is adjustable. I don't think you have to spend big bucks on a helmet to be safe.
