Someone i work with has the '07 rabbit GTi, apart from the crap seat sliding mechanism, its really pretty fast. So far he's had it up to 146mph and the torque curve is flat as hell, so it pulls from idle to the redline.

I'm driving an mk2 gti now, lady has an mk1 also, I've driven mk4's no 5's VW's might seem like they have a good fit and finish and everything, but they're just big peices of ----. I took a 1500 dollar hit on mine just so I didn't have to drive the ------- thing anymore. The vr6 breaks all of the time too, the only good engine VW made are their old non turbo diesels and their 8v's.
