New project since NE aint gonna happen

Re: New project since NE aint gonna happen
Ok some one needs to do there home work on carbs. holley vs q-jet fuel usage holley will use probably 2 gallons an hour compared to the q jet 1 an hr.
Holley 600 vacum secondaries all throttle plates same size...............600cfm will also need new manifold $$$
Q-jet small primaries Huge secondaries ........................................795 cfm no manifold needed stock aluminum saves $$$$. Already i have save 200 towards the fuel an another 100 not buying a holley already had the q-jet an also probably will save 2.50 per hr while running if just running the primaries.Thats my 2 cents worth....
Also you would have to run 2 4cyl ford engine due to the size of this boat.Ask Jeff he has been aboard an its not a skiff...LOL
Do you think your gonna be wide open all the time ? if you are i have the wrong boat for that.

okay, since when does your 800cfm > 600cfm in gal/hr comsumption?
run smaller jets, and be done with it. you aren't going to use any more fuel than you would putting around with either, until you crack it wide open. smaller throttle bore = more vacuum across the jets = more intaked fuel. i have never known, seen, or heard of a qjet getting BETTER mileage than a holley for as long as i can remember...
#61 jets are about spot on, +/-2 on the size

Well you set it up your way ill do mine. The engine runs choice got her up an running tonight.an the primaries are half as big as a primary on a holley carb.Doesnt matter i have many years of tuning q-jet for both preformance an economy.
