More info on shoehorning V6 into Escorts pls. If the transmission is remotely robust it looks like a great way to rape *** at the streetraces.

its a very easy straight forward swap.Heres a simple run down of the parts

mazda mx3 gs v6 parts:
all mounts
mount shell that bolts to the passenger fenderwell
shifter linkage
stabilizer bar
front control arms
axles
engine harness
throttle cable bracket

probe gt parts:
motor
trans
clutch and flywheel
ecu
headers
testpipe

custom ----:
radiator
catback exhaust
guages
radiator hoses

Ive done a total of 2 wagons and the pink egt, all v6 swapped.I only used the USDM KLDE due to my budget. There is a video of a 4 door escort sedan with a KLZE in it that runs 13.60s.I had plans for a 100 wet shot on mine but my motor was burning too much oil.I raced a few of my buddies probes and mx6s with the KLZE in em and they couldnt keep up at all.The car was fast for what it was, but deff nothing to brag about.Ill be doin another swapped escort probably end of winter, but this one wont be with the v6.Ill be putting a 2.2L turbo motor similar to my current one, into another wagon.I have a buddy waiting on mounts from austrailia and ill be dropping my FE3 DOHC into my probe so ill have the motor and turbo setup to throw in the escort right away.

I wish they did, but they are far from drop in.Im gettin custom mounts only made by order from a guy in australia. The next hardest part is goin to be getting the control arms to work with the axles.Ill most likely be giving driveshaft shop a call and gettin some custom peices made.Other than that, i dont see any problems just yet but im sure ill run into some snags.

sad to say, but the wagon is long gone.I do miss it alot, but i went through 2 trannies before i called it quits. Those 2g trannies are complete trash for anything above 200whp.Im glad i went with the car i have now.The 1g probes,mx6,626 all have the mazda H tranny. Its supposedly the strongest fwd mazda tranny made.Ive seen guys hit 500whp out of these trannies with a shotty phantom grip lsd.Im going to shoot for 400whp this year but i need to get megasquirt.I wish there was somebody around here that could help me tune it, id order up the stuff today.
