We have a lot of problems with this on VWs, you can't run a turbo without the restrictor (on them) it may not be too late....just don't run it anymore like that or you could do permanent damage....try the restrictor first

So now the turbo is being repaired, how small should be the restrictor hole? Doens´t the oil thickness mather?

I´m currently using 5w40 BP7000 sport oil, because it´s good and above all is free... Stock uses 15w40 Mobil super S, should i use recomended oil or thicker?

did the swifts come turbo in The US? I could have sworn i ran into one at the yard a while back.

me too, i thought they were a 1.3 liter 3 cyl. turbo with a bill under the hood.

cool car anyway. i read most of the replies, maybe i didn't see, but what are those capable of power wise?

Watched the smokey vid. Smoke on shifts, and after decel, deff. the turbo. Pop your IC off and you might be able to recover a QT or two of oil :P
