New daily driver, I'm boosted again

Re: New daily driver, I'm boosted again
Just change the turbo and do a MP headgasket upgrade while you are in there. I have 2 or 3? good mistu turbo's but they are usless to me.
that motor has the lightweight rods and I wouldnt push much more then 18psi thru it or the rods might fail. But if your use to turboing D-series motors... your new cars motor is bullet proof!

Re: New daily driver, I'm boosted again
I'm use to fseries engines. I read about 3/4's of the dodge garage the other day, I've been doing a ton of research. I don't want to modify something until I understand it, but I still don't see how it would create boost creap. I understand that it creates but I don't see how, do the wastegates and exhaust housing really suck or what? I'm just going to be running 2.5'' exhaust now, that came stock on the newer turbo dodges so I should'nt experiance too many problems. Thanks for your guys help, I plan on taking it to the track on april 9 to see what it can do, not expecting much maybe 16's out of it. I only plan on doing mild mods because its my daily driver and I still have an accord to fix

The exhaust housing and wastegate port are soo small, that the exhaust gasses will bottleneck so badly, that it only has one other way to go, out the turbine. And when this happens, it will over spin the compressor. This will increase the pressure in the intake. If you can't bypass the exhaust past the turbine fast enough, you will have boost creep.

not exactly the wastegate, but the port for the wastegate can't flow enough exhaust..
that makes pefect sence to me, i don't know what you were talking about earlier skinny E, but like i said external

Re: New daily driver, I'm boosted again
I was explaining to you how the computer allows only 10psi of boost for 10sec at wide open throttle, a solenoild I belive regulates this, so I was saying if I went external I would have to find a way to trick the ecu into thinking that the solenoid is on or off. I guess that kinda makes sense I know in my head what I'm thinking just kinda hard to put into words

Re: New daily driver, I'm boosted again
I just bypassed that in all my turbo cars. Just install a manual boost control valve between the boost/vac source and the wastegate. I ran all my turbo cars up to 14 psi with no computer boost control limitiations.
