Default New clutch, "new" tranny...now it feels wierd.

I have a 91 Civic with a 97 D16Y8 swap. When doing the swap I put in another cable tranny from a lower mileage Civic SI. The clutch is a XTD stage 3 clutch.

The clutch engagement is deffinately different. I just tap the clutch barely to change gears (my old motor/tranny had the stock clutch with 204k miles). The actual shifting is what feels wierd. It's kinda tuff, seems like it's awkard. Just doesn't feel right.

What could this be?

If the shifting is tough then you probably have to adjust the cable. Sounds like you aren't disenaging enough.

I'm not talking about the engaging. That is deff a lot stiffer, but grips like a champ. I'm talking about the actual shifting. It feels like it's just not the same. It's kinda tuff and feels like the gears are different...it's hard to explain.

lossen the bolts at the bottom of your shifter a little bit. if you over tighten them it causes stiff shifter syndrome.
