New cluster- problems with Speedometer
Finally I got an American cluster for my Civic so I could replace the JDM cluster that came with my car.
I hooked it up today and all seemed to be fine, I took it for a spin once I got it all back together and noticed the speedometer wasnt working. All other guages are functioning properly. When I start the car the speedometer needle comes up and little just like the one in my Dad's Accord. When I start to move though, it dosent go any higher. Any ideas or did I just buy a broken cluster?

Well the JDM speedo worked today, I stopped and got out of the car got a screwdriver and had it done in about 5 minutes, started the car and took off and it didnt work. I didnt disconnect the battery 1st like I should have, I just thought of that.

If your VSS is bad, you should get a CEL that says your VSS is bad. I had a funky speedo before... It would work fine and then die and then spring to life and die... I just got another cluster and swapped the speedo into the old one because the gas guage was broke in the new one. Mileage was off by about 100,000 miles but it worked.

Maybe a stupid suggestion, but are all the plus plugged in securely? Might wanna check that.
Well on one of my non-honda's the speedo stopped wotking, and it was a fuse, don't know if hondas have fuses for the speedo since I had no reason to check, but you might wanna check that out.
