If it ain't broke don't fix it. Look how long Chevy has had the 350= smarter then honda. :P
sayin the 350 from 1952 is the same as a lt1/ls1 ext motor is a far fetch, the shape and cubic inches is about whats the same :-p
but i guess B and K series are different because they face different directions right? i guess that would make them pretty different... :-p

ECOTEC engine is superior to the K series, because of strength me thinks... these K series motors are just high revving i4s. they're made to rev not for strength.
the ECOTEC is the new small block chevy. they're putting this motor in everything... parts will be cheap, dize a dozen... you will be able to switch around transmissions and other parts.
GM treats its performance fans very well, by sharing almost everything from one car to another. FORD is really bad at this... so is most other car makers. honda was good at this too, until recently with all the newer motors.

just some cool pictures:
Consider that the turbocharged Ecotec that powers the front-wheel-drive Cavalier drag racer, which will run in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Modified class and the Import Drag Racing Circuit (IDRC) Outlaw class, produces more than 700 horsepower from only 120 cubic inches of piston displacement - a staggering 5.8 horsepower per cubic inch (its Sunfire sibling that will run in the NHRA Hot Rod class and IDRC Quick class produces 600 horsepower for 5hp/cu.-in.). If a naturally aspirated 500ci Pro Stock engine had equivalent output, it would produce nearly 3,000 horsepower!

Re:New Civic type-R
Well I think that chevy needs to change the roof line atleast some. I haven't seen it change since 91. Thats the ---- that pisses me off about chevy and their peice of ---- interior, ill-fitting headlights and taillights. I hate working on them at my shop. All the interior peices just 'snap' in place. No screws or anything to stop vibrating. Well mabey some felt on the backside but ----. This is the first caviler/cobolt that looks halfway decent. But I still don't like them. I will stick to my honda. Or get a toyota/scion.
