The VW 1.8T cars are nice but require turbo upgrades to go fast, that and more expensive parts. They handle nicely stock and lightly modified though. Every american automaker thinks that the best way to cut costs is where you spend most of your time: The interior. That is why on Jaguars (ford owns jaguar) you will see many switches and interior parts from cars that cost 1/3 as much, and the mustang shares interior parts from other ford vehicles. I like the new mustang though, its pretty decent. With boltons and small parts and less effort/cash you can get a fox mustang to go faster than many other cars. I like Subaru Sti's but i still could never admit to owning a neon, even if it is an SRT4

that kit on the gti puts you into low 12's almost high 11's. drop the weight in the bitch by a bit, slicks, a few other small things and easy 11's. plus i like gti's over civics. or if you wanted, hit up an older lighter GTI and those can be built up same way into the 10's
