So what does it affect? Suspension, bushings, struts, ball joints.....

That's all ---- you replace when you modify a car anyways. I don't see the problem. One of the first things I did when I bought my car was put all new bushings, ball joints and tie rod ends on. The struts are still fucked, but I'm working on it.

i guess IF i get it a test drive will tell all.. since I can compare it to my rex which has 160km on it i'll know the "condition" of the other crap.

that would suck to have to worry about rust. you can go to a junkyard here and look at a 1972 pinto wagon that has been there since 1973, and there is no rust on it.
