ok saturday night i was following two friends i was the last car cause my alxe broke earlier and if i took it above seventy my whole car would shake beyond control. they were doing i guess between 75-85 MPH i was steady at 67mph. We all past a state trooper but i didn't see the cop so i just kept going on my bussiness. I then see the flashing lights behind me. I flash my high beams at my buddies to try and get them to stop and what do they do. drop it a gear and take off running. MY mom just passed away three weeks ago had no life insurance and no money in the back I had to move into her house two weeks ago to help take care of my disable dad who is probally going to die soon too cause his health is worse then my moms at the time. Trooper pulls me over and says i was doing 75 in a 55 zone. I explain to the trooper my car is broken i couldn;t be doiong 75 cause my car would shake like crazy that is was my friends that were speeding and the only reason why i'm getting the ticket was cause they took off running. I tried to explain to him that i'm on probation for a speeding ticket i just got another ticket two months ago that i'm scheduled to goto court for in december and my mom just passed away and i can't afford any more. He then tells me my sob story wasn't going to work with him and that we car guys hook up our cars and think the free way is our own private race track. SO now i don't know what to do. I'm on probation for a ticket i got 7 months ago. I got a speeding ticket two months back that i'm scheduled to goto court for in december. I was just going to take that to court pay it and take the hit but now i have this new speeding ticket and i don't know what to do. Any suggestions on how i might be able tio get off or out of these tickets. I'm thinking right now to try and reschedule the court date other then that i'm lost as to what to do

For one, you're an idiot for going 67 in a 55, especially living in the DC area, especially after just getting a ticket, and especially because you drive a Honda. You pretty much asked to be raped. Cops in MD, DC, VA almost always pull over a Japanese "tuner" car when they travel in packs, that's how it is. Don't do that ----. I don't anymore. On 81 I have it pegged on 70 the whole way, and it's a 65. We have people going 90 that don't get pulled over flying by cops, but if I go 75 I know I'm getting nailed.

Secondly, go to court and explain to the judge that you had a fucked up axle and there's no way you could be going that fast because of the vibrations. Tell him you had it pegged on 55 and you know for a fact because any higher and it would vibrate.

Lesson learned: Don't speed like a ********.

Hell you dont even have to be in a pack....or speeding. They will pull you over for just about anything they can. Even if your a girl with a baby in the car....your a streetracer to them. ---- Va cops

Yeah it's bad, and I don't really get it. There are a lot more blown Mustangs in my area capable of much more than the imports around here. There's even a shoebox in Winchester with a huge blower sticking out of the hood (the thing has to be a KB 2.8 or larger) that's about 2/3 the width and length of my Civic. The thing is nasty sounding and it has about zero chance of being pulled over.

I've noticed a lot less attention drawn to myself now that I ditched the Apex'i Dunk catback in favor of a full 3" with the muffler tucked and a downtube painted black.

The only thing that makes my car not appear stock is the exaust. Its not that loud defenatly not as loud as a mustang. I have gotten pulled over and harassed for the exaust more times than i can count but they never give me a ticket...hmmm makes you wonder right? can we say profiling??

Get proof that your car couldn't do 75 (ie video).
Get a public defender
Get the ticket dropped

I don't get hassled for my car even though i have a huge front mount and bumper cut my tag is on the front and thats all that matters. MY exhaust looks stock and because the turbo helps it's even quiter then stock.

Take him to court and ask for proof you were going 75, a ticket that is 10mph less will be less hefty at very least.

I also think the whole tell them your car was broken thing is a bad idea, because driving with a known broken vehichle that is potentially dangerous to others is gonna get you in alot more trouble if you ask me....

When I got tickets I went to court. I was respectful and told the judge I didn't dispute the fact I was speeding, I was just looking for leniency (sp?) for insurance reasons, etc. I always at least got my points dropped and almost always had my fines lowered too. But the one thing I never forgot is I was speeding and was breaking the law, it's not my right to get cut a break.

I would go in there and tell them you were speeding but would ask to get ---- lowered. Maybe tell them that you think the speed trap clocked your buddies car, but I doubt that would fly. My gut says if they were going "75-85 MPH i was steady at 67mph" that you wouldn't be very close for very long. Just remember to be polite and not to be a jackass, they don't owe you ---- you need to convince them to give you a break.

And whatever you do never tell the judge the cop is lying or flat out wrong without solid proof. You just make yourself look like a jackass. It's your young word against a guy that has sworn to uphold the law etc etc. Even if the cop is a lying scumbag, hes' more credible in the situation.
