rb06dett huh?

I think its nearly impossible to make an R34 street legal in the US now, if the nissan board I read that on is correct.

To do it legally is way too hard. If it were me I would just weld in new vins off of a 240sx. Its illegal as hell but I doubt any cop would know the difference

its what most people do... n funny thing is they jus keep it called a 240sx thats modified... works all the time...

one other thing you can do is hit up motorex or was it motox? i forgot lol. they sell legit legal skylines registered... 1 other thing you can do is just go to the dmv n tell them you got a skyline from japan and your in the process of registering it n smogging it, they'll let you pay all the registration fee's n what not n give you "temp" registration... jus drive on that forever. i kno 3 cars from japan right now on the street that are registered like this n its been over 2 years now. they give you a new temp like every 5 months. if they stop givin it to you go to another dmv, there's like 5 in san diego area

^^^ There's a reason Motorex charges $90,000 for a Skyline. It costs a shitton of money to do everything legally

http://www.skylinegtr.com/STOCKLIST.html

only the R34 2002 cost 90 grand if you buy it out right. but im sure you can work a deal with them to jus have them make it street legal.

who wants an R34 anyway... i'd rock an R32 by choice any day for 30 grand or jus get one from my local importer for like 7 grand but i need to deal with registration... R33's for like 12grand and R34's for less then 18

To buy a Skyline getting it shipped over is not hard at all. Getting it registered over here is something different. R33 and R32 easier to register R34 good luck. I was looking to get the 34 but why worry about getting it impounded and never getting it back.

yea motoRex will make it legal for u..what they basically do is change the side mirrors so they read "object may seem closer than appear".. they change the front windsheild so it doesnt shatter when u crash..they add re-inforcement beams IN the side doors, and front n rear bumpers.. they add a catalytic converter...and sum other stuff that should only cost maybe $2000 atthe most... then they get california CHP to inspect it.. once it clears.. the dmv willl assign it a vIN number...

its only 2000 in parts maybe, but i'm sure motorex isnt just giving this service away, i could be wrong, but it would seem to me that they know that if you could afford to purchase the car and pay to have it shipped over, you can also afford to pay the big bucks to get it registered... its a business just like anything else
