Default need some help with electronic issue...

ok, here is the scoop, my tv's Coaxial input has ---- the bed, and to fix it will cost more than what I want to spend ($200+).

so I have been searching all day for a Coaxial (aka RF) to RCA or S-video convertor (aka demodulator).

i have found a ton of the opposite of what I need, however nothing of what I do need.

I am currently running the cable through my VCR, which means I cannot use the digital cable signal, Comcast on demand, and pay per view. which really sucks.

so i am asking for the help of HMT to find me a convertor that will work because my 8hrs of working while searching on google has yet to yield a single item that is currently sold. I have found a few items that are no longer sold and cannot seem to find ---- that is currently sold.

help :1

there is no such thing as what u r looking for (a simple converter) your coax shoots all the channels in @ once and ur tv decides which one u display...you can call ur local provider and ask them for a tuner box (like a sat box) and that will have about 3-4 different video outputs. if you are using over the air....Or u can buy a panasonic dvd recorder that the new accutune system (till tune NTSC and ATSC signals.

Black Box, Inc, makes that sort of stuff. Don't expect to be pleased with the prices; it was $179 for the old school VGA to RCA converter that allows me to use a low rent 866 MHz P3 to play movies on my lower rent 36" tube screen.

I advise buying a descrambler box and running that to the VCR-->TV, fix your current ----, or hit up Jorsher for deals on LG TV stuff. He lags to respond, and always takes 6 days longer than he says he will to ship, but he is legit.

my cable provider only supplies a box that has the coax in - coax out. They are checking to see if they have any remanufactured "old stock" that did have the RCA and S-Video outs with a Coax in.

And yes, there were a couple companies that DID make the converter. However, they were small companies that eventually went belly up. So they are currently no longer sold or made.

Thanks for the heads up on that place JD.

If I am going to have to spend a grip load of cash to have it fixed, i will. Its well worth it. 53" Sony projection tv. I got it for free and it only needed a chip replaced so the guns could be converged and that was $125 with an at home visit/fix.

I think I am going to hold out for now and see if the cable company will have an older box that they can send me.
