Also plan on getting another one of those lights for growing
I haven't seen any monitors with higher resolution than that, but I'll see.
What's the price on those commercial projectors? (too lazy to look)

My cable company (Knology) also supplies a very limited number of free digital channels. Mostly the local ones and some extras.
Also, if you just plug an antenna to that tv, it'll pick up local ATSC high def channels, assuming it has a tuner. HELLUVA lot clearer than regular broadcast (FFC mandates that all analog broadcasts will be stopped in 2009, so pick up an HDTV folks :P)

Also HDTV cable boxes are only needed when you want the "premium" HDTV channels like HBO and showtime and such or if your TV doesn't have a HDTV tuner. If you can get a channel with basic cable and without a box and the channel offers HD and your TV has a HD tuner, then you can watch the channel in HD for free.
EDIT: i'm leaving what I typed, but I agree with the post above me a lot more than your first post. Also do you have any deals in any HDTVs through LG? I'm looking for something thats a good deal.

Here's a picture of the light for it (and one of the 50")

i thought about making my own, but i didn't want a bulky box, and you can't get all the feartures. i just can't see the image being as good as a dlp, as far as resolution i'm sure you can get it just as good, but not the contrast and color cause of no DLP

Re: need some HDTV help..
Does the TV have a built in ATSC tuner? What are you hooking up to it?
You're only going to get a high def picture if your cable provider broadcasts any HD channels in the clear, or if you hook up something that outputs in HD (HD-DVD player, Bluray, PS3, Xbox 360) and have it hooked up with component, HDMI, or VGA cables.

Plenty of great looking stuff (except the cases) for pretty cheap. You can build a good 1080p projector for around 200-400 less than the 720p commercial one, and bulbs are only 50 to replace as opposed to a couple hundred.
I admit though, these DIY are ugly and bulky as ----. Some of the people hide them in clever ways though.
