need some advice...what would you do?
ok i have a 91 crx Si that i swapped a D16Z6 into and converted to OBD1
i am planning to turbo it eventually
i have a chipped P28 in there
i have a constant CEL and the car wont rev past 4k
the chip in the ECU is for a boosted H22
from some stuff that i have read points to the distributor being bad
i want to be able to diagnose and i have thought of a few options just wondering what you all would do
get the Ostrich that i want now and get the right program in the ecm, only problem with that is if the ecu is the problem im still SOL and i have an extra $200 into something i cant use
get a stock untouched p28 and put that in the car then diagnose from there
have someone on here burn me a chip for the Z6 and diagnose from there
any other suggestions would be cool, just trying to get the car running good before i do any turbo work or parts ordering
thanks

Re: need some advice...what would you do?
gettin a solid cel im pretty sure consists of...a bad chip burn, bad solder job, or a bad ecu. if you cut the j1 jumper wire it will let the ecu run without the chip and if the cel goes away the ecu is good. then you have to figure out if it is the chip or if you have to add solder to the some points. also make sure all of your grounds are connected

I would first check the code. Work from there for sure. Get a chip for the zc in there, see if that fixes it. If not, new ecu time... either that or try to re-solder the socket.
